The stigma of HIV affects all who are infected and perhaps the saddest part of Christina's story is she had no choice in the matter. Christina focuses on the American HIV epidemic within her lecture in an attempt to show that the problem is still very real in the non third world.

Employing strategies inspired by community organizer Saul Alinsky and the Deep South civil rights movement, the organization defeated urban renewal, negotiated jobs for the unemployed, and protected low-income tenants.
